We create bespoke investment portfolios for our clients. We manage to do this with a level of discipline and consistency not always attained by private client managers.

Our thematic approach and professional research process generate investment ideas and it is our method of portfolio construction process that turns these into bespoke investment solutions for clients. Our investment team works with what we call building blocks. A building block provides exposure to only one asset type but may be one stock or a list of up to 40 stocks. Building blocks are combined to form individual portfolios that may have any disposition of assets.

There is much room for creativity for our investment managers at the research and selection stages. They will also be responsible for balancing a client’s overall portfolio across, for example, their own fully-taxable fund, their PEP and ISA, and possibly their pension fund. The building block approach is the link, from ideas to reality and is designed to ensure that our well-defined, but flexible, process is implemented in a consistent manner.

It is important, when looking at any firm’s investment record, to evaluate the extent to which it can be relied upon. When it comes to translating the apparent returns and expertise into performance for your own investments, will it actually happen? Our building block method of portfolio construction is designed to drive the process.
