Funds Background
Many of today's investors prefer to take advantage of the tax-efficient nature of collective investment vehicles. The Taylor Young Funds were launched to meet this demand and, for the first time, make the distinctive Taylor Young thematic investment approach accessible to a wider universe of investors.
The Funds are managed on a similar basis to the thematic way in which we manage portfolios for our discretionary direct equity clients. They typically comprise around 30 to 35 stocks. This provides a prudent spread whilst allowing strong focus on the themes, sectors and companies that we favour.
The Growth Fund invests in a diversified portfolio of mainly UK equities. There will be no emphasis placed on particular industry sectors.
The Growth & Income Fund aims to generate an income yield about that of the FTSE All-Share Index from a portfolio invested mainly in UK equities. Typically, more than 50% of the Fund will be invested in FTSE 100 companies and up to 50% in medium and smaller companies.
The Equity Income Fund aims to generate a higher income yield, together with some capital growth. Usually, the majority of the Fund is invested in a diversified portfolio of equities, mostly FTSE 100 companies, with about 10% invested in sterling-denominated fixed interest securities.
