Discretionary
The vast majority of our clients award us discretionary mandates. This allows Taylor Young to agree objectives and risk parameters with the client and to take day-to-day investment decisions on their portfolios whilst seeking to achieve their aims. Regular valuations, reports, investment outlooks and newsletters are sent to discretionary clients and we encourage at least one review meeting per year.

Advisory
A small proportion of our clients have bespoke advisory mandates. Again, objectives and risk parameters are agreed at the outset but the client is consulted each time before any transactions take place. Regular valuations, reports, investment outlooks and newsletters are sent to the client and again we would encourage at least one review meeting per year.

Execution-only
This service is primarily for existing clients’ assets that fall outside their discretionary or advisory accounts or for individuals with highly specific links with the firm. No investment advice is given.

Open-ended investment companies (OEICs)
Taylor Young manages its own OEIC called the Taylor Young Investment Funds. There are three sub-funds:

  • Taylor Young Growth Fund
  • Taylor Young Growth & Income Fund
  • Taylor Young Equity Income Fund

These funds allow Taylor Young to manage our clients’ UK Equity exposure in a tax-efficient manner. They are also available to the general public on a stand alone (no advice) basis.

Private OEICS
Taylor Young also can help with the establishment and management of private OEICS for wealthy individuals and families with assets in excess of £6m to invest. This structure allows individuals and families to pool their investments and pursue a common investment objective in a tax-efficient manner.
