PETER THOMSON graduated with a BSc (Honours) in Mathematics and Statistics from University of London in 1986. He joined Taylor Young in 2004 as the chief investment officer from Gerrard Limited where he spent eighteen years managing private client, trust and charity mandates. At Gerrard he chaired the investment process committee and, latterly, was head of the global strategies division. At Taylor Young he leads the investment team and research functions and in May 2006 was appointed as chief executive officer and head of the executive committee.  He qualified as a Member of the Stock Exchange specialising in Investment Analysis, Private Client Investment Management and Regulation and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

ANDREW WALDREN joined Taylor Young in 2000 from the Bank of NT Butterfield & Son Ltd where, over a period of eight years, he held various IT and project management positions in the asset management division of their Bermuda, Singapore and London operations. Before this, he spent six years working in the City for leading European banks. He is operations director and a member of the executive committee.  He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

NICHOLAS TAYLOR-YOUNG graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in natural sciences in 1981. He trained as an accountant at Price Waterhouse for five years, before moving into fund management. He joined Taylor Young in 1995 after eight years’ experience at James Capel and Smith & Williamson. He is a senior investment manager, a member of the executive committee and is responsible for fixed interest, chemicals and other financial research. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

DAVID GIBBS is chairman of Taylor Young and Alpha Trust. He has over forty years of professional asset management experience, formerly as an executive director of Hambros Bank and Hambros Fund Management.

PHAEDON TAMVAKAKIS is managing director and founder of Alpha Trust. He is also on the board of directors of Helenic Institutional Investment Association. He gained an MA from Exeter University reading investment & finance. After working for Unilever, he co-founded Alpha Trust in 1987.

JOHN FOURLIS is executive director of Alpha Trust Investment Services S.A. John graduated with a BSc. in Business Administration and Master’s in International Business Administration (MIBA) from Alliant International University in San Diego USA. Currently, he is a member of the BoD of Alpha Trust Mutual Fund Management SA and a member of the BoD of Alpha Trust Hellenic Land SA. Previously, he was regional development manager – Asia of Zurich Financial Services Group, vice president of AIA (AIG company), marketing director of Schweiz Group (Swiss Re company), member of the BoD and fund manager of Schweiz Fund MFMC and a member of the BoD of Eurobrokers. John has over 22 years of experience in the financial services sector.

CHRIS AESOPOS is executive director of Alpha Trust Investment Services S.A. Chris graduated with a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics, an MSc in Economics from Birbeck College and an MSc in Shipping Trade & Finance from Cass Business School, U.K. He joined Alpha Trust in 2001 and is also senior fund manager and general manager. He is a member of the investment committee and is a certified investment manager by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission. Prior to joining Alpha Trust, Chris spent 8 years with EFG Eurobank, as head of asset management for 4 years and senior relationship manager in private banking for the previous 4 years. He has over 17 years of experience in the financial services sector.

DAVID LEWIS was employed at Hambros Bank for thirty eight years, of which seventeen were spent overseas in Italy, Japan, Hong Kong, United States and Australia. During this time he was responsible for, inter alia, fund management and venture capital companies. He retired from Hambros in 1998 as vice chairman. He was chairman of Asia Technology Trust from 1998 until 2003. In 2000, he was appointed chairman of Hunters & Frankau Limited, the fine cigar importers. He was appointed a director of Alpha Trust (then Hambros Hellenic) in 1997 and a director of Taylor Young in 2008.

CHRISTOPHER BUXTON, born 1972, graduated with a BSc (Honours) in marketing and economics from Newcastle University in 1996. He began his career at Price Waterhouse and in 2000, he moved to Greig Middleton, which merged to form Gerrard Ltd. At Gerrard he was a member of one of the leading private client teams responsible for managing a large and diverse client base. Christopher joined Taylor Young in 2004 and is a senior investment manager, running the Taylor Young Growth & Income Fund and with research responsibilities for the resource, chemicals and defence sectors. He qualified as a Member of the Securities Institute specialising in Investment Analysis, Private Client Investment Management and Regulation and is now a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

ROBERT GOODCHILD, born 1960, started his career at Scrimgeour Kemp-Gee Ltd in 1982 leaving what had become Scrimgeour Vickers Asset Management Ltd in 1991. That year he moved to Greig Middleton which merged to form Gerrard Ltd. Throughout this period he has specialised in managing private client portfolios. Robert joined Taylor Young in 2004. He is a senior investment manager and is responsible for collective investment scheme research. He was awarded the CISI PCIAM Certificate in 2010.  He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

JASON TOOLE, born 1970, began his investment career at Gerrard Vivian Gray, which later merged to form Gerrard Ltd. He was a member of one of the leading private client teams at Gerrard, managing a large and diverse client base.  Jason joined Taylor Young in 2004. He is a senior investment manager and is responsible for banks and financials research. He was awarded the CISI PCIAM Certificate in 2010.  He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

TIFFANY SCHNADHORST, CFA, born 1981, joined Taylor Young in 2007. She has recently been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst charter and is the newest member to our investment team. Prior to joining Taylor Young, Tiffany read politics at Swansea University, and spent a further two years at BPP law school studying for her GDL and LPC qualifications. She also spent one year training at a law firm in London, working in employment and industrial relations law.
